More tourism security will be invested in three natural areas of Peru

Having very clear that tourism security is one of the factors that persuades the traveler to visit a destination in the world, the Vice Minister of Tourism, José Vidal, within the framework of the Safe Tourism strategy, reported that security will be perfected tourism in three protected natural areas (ANP): Paracas National Reserve in Ica, Tambopata National Reserve in Madre de Dios and Huascarán National Park in Áncash respectively.

These improvements will be financed with the 500 thousand soles that will be given by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), to the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (SERNANP), which will acquire equipment for security such as rescue and communication . This thanks to Ministerial Resolution No. 284-2019-MINCETUR, the financial transfer was authorized, from the budget of document 35, to SERNANP, during Fiscal Year 2019.

“Thanks to Safe Tourism, SERNANP can provide radios, vans, jet skis, boats, telecommunications equipment, among others, to strengthen the security of these three protected natural areas of large tourist influx,” said Vidal, also said that in These areas are cases like assaults, thanks to poor communication.

“To reduce insecurity we need to work in an articulated way, we want tourists to feel safe in Peru and that their travel experience is focused on the wonders they met in these places. This will have a great positive impact on the competitiveness of Peru as a tourist destination, a challenge we have undertaken, ”he added.

Finally, having these protected natural areas is of the utmost vitality, since every year thousands of tourists visit them and it is the responsibility of the State for the well-being of visitors and workers, between January and June 2019, 6,141 tourists arrived at the Tambopata National Reserve , 18,300 to the Paracas National Reserve and 28,125 to the Huascarán National Park.

The Safe Tourism plan is the joint effort made by ministries such as: Mincetur, Ministry of Culture, Environment, Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, Transport and Communications, Economy and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Defense, Production, Ministry of Health and the Public Ministry. And the participation of private sector associations, which include lodging establishments, restaurants, tourist guides and travel agencies.
