Cusco will host ‘Food Forever Experience’ – Peru

In the framework of the International Day of Biodiversity, Food Forever has joined the International Potato Center (CIP), the Crop Trust and Inkaterra, to organize in Cusco the ‘Food Forever Experience’ – Peru, a unique event of three days which will lead participants to understand from different angles the importance of agricultural biodiversity, in particular, that of Peru, to guarantee food and nutrition security, improve crop resistance to climate change and boost innovation and business competitiveness.

The event will be held between May 22 and 24 and will present nature and science as a fundamental part of the solution to the challenges posed by climate change. Through a panel discussion, a field visit, and other complementary activities, participants will see first-hand how climate change puts food systems at risk by generating increasingly adverse planting conditions, and by limiting the productivity of crops and crops. livelihoods of millions of farmers.

The summit also aims to demonstrate that the consumer plays a central role in the global efforts of conservation of agricultural biodiversity, as demand is an essential component that drives the decisions of farmers at the time of cultivation.

The discussion, central activity of the Experience, will take place from 10.30 in the morning until 4.30 in the afternoon of May 23 at the Inkaterra hotel of the Hacienda Urubamba in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
